Glads Doing Good

The Junior Gladiator program is more than just winning Saturday games during the Fall - We are about creating year-round community leaders, not just athletes. Seeking the trifecta of academics, athletics & volunteerism, we hope to impart to our athletes to make good decisions and always be prepared and eager to go the distance. Just as the NFL calls on their athletes to Give Back, we call on ours to Do Good.

We want to recognize our local luminaries and encourage you to submit your athlete's story of how he/she is making a difference globally, by acting locally.

7th Grade Gladiator: Gavin Jones

Gavin Jones played on the 7th grade Junior Gladiators last season and will be on the 8th grade team in Fall 2018.  Gavin has a calling and passion to assist others via acts of service.  He’s served on ten Lighthouse Family retreats assisting families walking through childhood cancer.  Gavin is gearing up to serve on two more Lighthouse retreats this Summer and a mission trip to Costa Rica in June.  Gavin enjoys serving at SafeHouse in downtown Atlanta and playing bingo at the Roswell Rehabilitation Center.  We are so proud of young man he is becoming, applaud his proud parents, and are honored that he chooses to wear Gladiator maroon and gold.

4th Grade Gladiators: Lucy Ferrell, Ford Nicholas & Jack Ingalls

Ford Nicholas, Jack Ingalls (Both, 4th Grade Tackle) and Lucy Ferrell (4th Grade Cheer) volunteer throughout the year with KidsCare - a program run by Gladiator Mom, Lori Nicholas, which connects students who want to help support local initiatives. The students (pictured here) are making signs to kick off a book drive benefitting the Child Development Association. The books will be donated to children ages one-five. Thank you to these and all the Gladiators out there making a positive difference!

McWilliams' Brothers - Cole & Kendrick Jr.

Cole McWilliams (3rd Grade Tackle) & Kendrick McWilliams, Jr. (6th Grade Tackle) spent Martin Luther King Jr. Day volunteering at The YMCA to make sandwiches for the homeless. It was a family effort as they were joined by their parents, Julie & Kendrick Sr., and sister, Kennedy. Thanks McWilliams Family for spending your day in service to make a difference for others.

Alex & Chase McKee - 3rd Grade Gladiators

Long-time Junior Gladiators and twins, Alex & Chase, are a force both on and off the field. These two are known for never giving anything less than 100 percent. They spent time in December helping to sort food and clean at the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Good job McKee boys!

Nico DuPlessis - 4th Grade Gladiator

One of the Gladiators' finest kickers, Nico Du Plessis, is known for his hard work and ethics both on and off the field. When he is not playing football, rugby or golf, he is helping out his neighbors with yard work. This young superstar is also blowing leaves and cleaning up driveways to raise money for a "rise up" project called Backpack Blessings. Way to go Nico!
